That’s a Wrap…a fond farewell
Hello Mechanics,
The day is upon us. Festival season for The Mechanic has officially ended with our run lasting roughly 17 months! 2 awards later, countless roadtrips, and a shoebox of memories wraps up this short film’s excellent lifespan. But what, if anything, will James and Mike do with all of this new found free time you ask???
First of all thanks for asking. Secondly, all i can say is White Collar Poet. Reuniting almost all of The Mechanic‘s cast (in reprised roles!) featuring the likes of Viv Leacock, David Lewis, Christine Chatelain, Lori Triolo, and new comers, Ben Cotton, Agam Darshi, and Daniel Bacon, this new web-series is sure to be a thrill-a-minute, with laughs to boot.
News and info on the way, Look for a teaser trailer coming soon!
Lastly, thanks again to all who supported The Mechanic through the months. Hope to see everyone soon!

Best,
James
Seattle – Sans awards, upgrade to VIP
Hey Mechanics,
Good showing at the Seattle True Indie Fest this past weekend. Michael, Zoe (art director extraordinaire) and I made it down to see the film play to a packed house on Sunday eve. The weather was fine, and Seattle never disappoints! Although we came home sans an award – the competition was steep – we did get upgraded passes upon arrival to VIP status. Still not sure what this means in the grand scheme of things, but hey we’ll take what we can get!
More updates from MIFF, and Okanagan as they happen….
Talk soon,
Mississauga Independent Film Festival
Let the good times roll! Another screening, this time to the east of us, The Mechanic has been officially selected to play in the Mississauga Independent Film Festival in Ontario on July 10th.
This will be the second time around for director M. Grand at MIFF. Previously he showed Warrior II: A yoga comedy at the festival last year.
**interesting fact: James Brown spent the majority of his childhood living in/around the Mississauga area.
We’ll be posting some pictures of our recent trip to <strong>Seattle’s True Independent Film Fest this past weekend. Stay tuned everybody….
High Desert Shorts rd 2…..WINNER!
Great News again folks!
In the 2nd Edition of the High Desert Shorts International Film Festival, we are so happy to say that The Mechanic took home the prize for top comedy!!
We had no idea we’d even been entered into this edition, but apparently Nevada has had a secret love affair with our film (see previous posts). We couldn’t be happier! Thanks all, pictures to come soon!
Best,
James + Mike
